Mendoza is the capital of the province of Mendoza about 700 miles west northwest of Buenos Aires. Small for a provincial capital with 125,000 inhabitants it is a commercial city but with a lot for the tourist. It is a wine center for Argentina. The downtown area is largely pedestrianized. Chacras de Coria, summer village surrounded by mountain ranges, with a landscape, vegetation and microclimate that have transformed it into one of the favorite places for weekends. It is located 14 kilometers from Mendoza.
